AREAS OF RESEARCH
 

Machining of difficult-to-machine materials including structural ceramics, titanium alloys, super alloys, rocks, and composites. Laser assisted materials processes with an emphasis on laser assisted machining of ceramics. Femtosecond laser materials processing. Mechanics and thermal modeling of manufacturing processes using FEA and DEM. Development of novel cutting tools.
